Ok.. I guess I'll start this out since the new summoning is here finally. Anybody want to comment on how to raise it, where to get 'charms', what charms are (for the non-summoners), what monsters drop what charms, etc.. Lets get to talking....

Along the grapevine I've heard firegiants are good as well as hellhounds and from another player doing well in summoning I've heard gaint rockcrabs are best dropping them in lots of 10 charms.

Idea is to quick level to 16 summoning using raw chicken you buy from Canifis. By this stage you have less than 20 charms or so left.

Gather charms like mad until you feel satisfied and start power leveling summoning.

After 16 people gather iron ore for the secondary, etc.

At 25 switch to Spirit Kalaphite if you've managed to build up a stash of 133 blue charms.

Then it's back to gold charms for 1637 Bull Ants to get you upto level 52.

Now move on to Spirit Terrorbirds with 5447 gold charms to get to Barker Toads.

594 of those (also gold) and you're at War Tortoise and level 66.

Granted you won't of used any of the large number of green charms getting there so you could throw a few thousand shards at those for some extra experience.

My favorite location to gather charms are the Dried Zombies.

This is a multi combat location that allows the use of the Cannon.

Not many people here after the quest so normally it is empty.

I use the new Water Tiara for drinking.

They drop several noted/stackable items;
Noted Steel Bars
Noted Silver Bars
Noted Ground Goat Horn
All 4 Charms

I don't really kill for charms, but slaying has given me plenty of charms!

moss giants drop a nice amount of gold charms and they arent hard to defeat. the lvl 83 cockroach in the player safety dungeon kinda drops all charms at a decent rate.

uhh, they drop mostly crimson and gold charms, these about same rate, then green, about half rate, and some blue (very few). And they almost drop a charm every kill
